Biography of Big Boss Vette
The American rapper was born Diamond Alexxis Smith. As regards her childhood, the St. Louis rapper grew up witout her biological father as he got incarcerated when she was only 3 years old. Hence, the responsibility of raising her went to her mother who passed it on to the rapper’s grandmother. This is as she had to work as a daycare teacher to support Vette. That said, her mother later got married a second time and her family grew.
While in high school at the age of 14 to 15, she joined a music group although that was not serious. At the time, she began making covers of people songs and that opened doors for her to be covered for other people’s covers. Although in 2014 she had gained so much recognition beyond her local environment when she worked on Loaf’s aforementioned song, it was only in 2019 that she released her first single, “Dog Ass Nigga” which was quite successful.
Coming from St Loius, she revealed that it was very difficult because there was hardly any form of support from people around.
In 2020, she uploaded her first song on social media and in 24 hours, the song went viral. This opened the door for her to have 13 labels wanting to have her pen on the dotted lines. She ended up going with Republic. Before she got signed to the label, Vette had, on her own, amassed more than 30 million streams on music streaming platforms.
